Meet Viky Rader
Travel with intention, beauty with focus and rituals that ground you.
You are known for your aesthetic, great travel content. Tell us your three favorite travel destinations and what's at the top of your bucket list?
Italy, Greece and Switzerland are my favorites: Italy for its attitude to life, Greece for its light, sea and timeless elegance, Switzerland for its tranquil nature. At the top of my bucket list is Costa Rica - for its wild landscapes and intense connection to nature.
Which culture has impressed you the most so far?
The Japanese! There is a deep calm in every movement, and at the same time everything is incredibly precise and deliberate. As a tea lover, I am particularly fascinated by the culture of rituals - from the tea ceremony to the cuisine, which is minimalist, finely composed and nourishing at the same time.
How does your beauty routine change when traveling, especially in very sunny climates?
My focus clearly shifts towards protection and care. UV protection is essential, as is protective clothing such as hats and lightweight fabrics. At the same time, hydration is key - through moisturizing skincare as well as plenty of water and a fresh, nutrient-rich diet.
Your beauty hack that works particularly well in the heat and dry airplane air?
Hydrogel masks, eye patches and a high-quality SPF are my essentials.
Traveling with a child brings new challenges. What has changed the most for you emotionally and organizationally?
Emotionally, traveling has become much more meaningful. You experience places through the eyes of your children, which gives everything a new depth and great gratitude. Organizationally, it takes more planning, more flexibility and more patience - but it's worth it!
How do you manage to find a balance between family time, me-time and work when traveling?
To be honest, it's still the hardest part and I'm learning more every day. I try to be present, accept imperfections and remember that balance doesn't mean giving everything the same amount of space, but that everything can have its own moment.
What advice would you give to mothers who want to travel with a child but are still unsure?
Just do it. Traveling together creates closeness, lasting memories and lets you grow together - that's priceless.
